This month, one of our firm’s attorneys, John Myles, graduated from the MBA program at Tulane University - A.B. Freeman School of Business with a concentration in finance.

In John’s own words,

“Balancing the program alongside a legal career was challenging, but it was an experience that gave me a much deeper understanding of business operations, financial analysis, and strategic decision-making. The program strengthened my ability to better understand a client’s business, evaluate financial issues in litigation and transactions, and provide more practical, business-oriented legal counsel.

As a commercial litigator with experience in transactional matters, I’ve seen how important it is for attorneys to understand not only the legal side of a dispute, but also the financial and operational realities behind it. The MBA experience helped bridge that gap for me.

I’m grateful for the professors, classmates, and professionals I had the opportunity to learn from throughout the program, and I’m excited to continue applying both the legal and financial perspectives in my career moving forward.”

Last evening at Copper Vine, we celebrated our summer law clerks with prosciutto and prosecco! It's been a pleasure having Jada Allen and Zach Smith from LSU University Law School, along with Matt Turner from Tulane, join us in the office this past week. Looking forward to a productive and exciting summer ahead!

We're pleased to announce that the Sher Garner team was awarded the "Honorary Chair Judge Robin D. Pittman Choice Award" at the New Orleans Bar & Grille event, which took place this past Sunday! Alvin Miester led the team in preparing the award-winning Smoked Shrimp Tacos topped with Citrus-Chipotle Slaw, a trio of sauces, a side of yellow rice and black beans, and a serving of white sangria.

The Young Lawyers Section of the NOBA organizes this event to bring together local law firms in a friendly cook-off competition at the Peristyle in City Park. In addition to showcasing the culinary and bartending talents of attorneys across the city, the event serves as a fundraiser for the Veterans Justice Fellowship, which provides life-changing civil legal help to address the needs of veterans in the New Orleans area.
