The conclave was held at the Four Season Hotel New Orleans and featured welcome remarks by Associate Justice D. Griffin of the Louisiana Supreme Court, and a Keynote Session by Victor M. Jones, Senior Counsel of the NACCP The Legal Defense Fund Legal Defense and Education Fund, Inc.

The PRBA Scholarship Fund was established to promote diversity within the legal profession by providing scholarships to law students from ABA-accredited law schools who can demonstrate contributions or a commitment to the Puerto Rican or LatinX community.

Associate Alex J. Domingue has been selected as an honoree for the New Orleans CityBusiness Leadership in Law class of 2026. Leadership in Law recognizes 50 legal professionals across New Orleans that “strengthen their firms, serve their clients, and elevate the profession.” Alex and his fellow honorees will be celebrated at a cocktail reception on October 5th at the New Orleans Museum of Art.

As noted by the publication, “Leadership in Law stands as a record of local professionals who have distinguished themselves within the legal industry as well as the larger community. Their work encompasses a variety of commercial and public interests, and their expertise reveals how the legal industry has evolved just in the short time CityBusiness has recognized the top attorneys in the region.”

On July 9, 2026, Member Samantha Kaplan, who leads Mouledoux, Bland, Legrand & Brackett’s Chicago office, co-presented with Kent Rogers, founder of Lodestar Law, at the 2026 Defense Base Act East Coast Symposium.

Samantha spoke about a controversial topic on everyone’s mind, across all fields: artificial intelligence. Specifically, she discussed the ethics surrounding the new technology and how it can be practically used in the DBA world.

Managing Member Alan Brackett served as the moderator. Also in attendance were Alexa Buechler, Patrick Babin, Rob Popich, Chris Prudhomme, and Simone Yoder.

Mouledoux, Bland, Legrand & Brackett was proud to be a sponsor of the 2026 NOBA Co****le Classic hosted by the New Orleans Bar Association Young Lawyers Section (YLS). The event, which was held on July 9, 2026, at the Urban South Brewery, was a benefit for The Pro Bono Project.

Teams from area law firms and judicial chambers are invited to competed in a bracket-style co****le tournament. This year, MBLB was excited to take home three trophies: third place in the tournament with Brooke K Rance, Esq. and Aaron Broussard, Best Trick Shot by Connor O’Brien, and third place for most creative name “Habeuscorn-pus” submitted by Hieu Scott Le.

Mouledoux, Bland, Legrand & Brackett, LLC has expanded its sixth-floor office to include the fifth floor of the Hancock Whitney Center. MBLB held an official ribbon cutting ceremony on Monday, June 29, in the new space, where attorneys and staff gathered for a celebratory toast. The firm had outgrown its current offices due to the addition of attorneys and staff from recent mergers with two law firms—Nalley, Dew and Miner in April 2025 and Larzelere Picou Wells Simpson Lonero, LLC in January 2026.

Alan Brackett, managing member of MBLB, said, “The expansion of MBLB’s offices to another floor continues an exciting trajectory that the firm has been on the last several years. In 2019, we had outgrown our offices on the upper floors of the Hancock Whitney Center, and we then took over the entire sixth floor of the building. We had 40 offices that we thought we might have trouble filling, and here we are six years later and we’ve got two floors. It speaks to the growth of the firm and the addition of the attorneys and staff from Nalley, Dew and Miner and Larzelere Picou.”

Mouledoux Bland Legrand & Brackett Attorneys Ney Gehman and Andrew Miner co-presented “Inside Louisiana’s New Bad Faith Landscape” at The Harmonie Group’s 2026 Northwest Arkansas Transportation Seminar. The regional event for the organization’s trucking and transportation legal networks was held at the headquarters of J.B. Hunt Transport Services, Inc. in Lowell, Arkansas, on June 17th.

SLLS is a non-profit organization that helps connect legal resources to Louisiana residents who are living below the poverty level. Their annual event was held on June 17 at NOLA Brewing.
