🚧 We officially broke ground on one of our next development projects!

Getting to this point wasn't easy. After a lengthy battle with the city permitting department, we're finally moving dirt and getting this project underway.

These are the moments we look forward to. Taking a project from an idea, to plans, to permits, and finally to construction is always exciting.

Sometimes real estate isn't quite as glamorous as people think.

I was out looking at a property when my foot sank straight into the mud and my shoe got stuck. After digging it out, I spent the rest of the day with no socks and a wet, muddy shoe. Luckily there was a hose nearby to clean up before leaving.

Just another day in the real estate business. Most people see the finished projects and closings, but there's plenty of mud, sweat, and surprises that happen behind the scenes too!

🏡 Another successful closing in the books!

Our second closing of June was a house in Gentilly, and this one came with a story. We actually bought another property from this same seller about 15 years ago in New Orleans East. This house belonged to his parents and had been carrying damage from Hurricane Katrina for many years.

We wanted to share to Facebook / Instagram a few pictures of the downtown building we recently bought.

This place has a ton of historical charm and character. It's going to need a complete renovation, but structurally it's actually in pretty good shape, which is always nice to see.

One challenge is that the current zoning doesn't quite match what we'd like to do with the property, so we'll need to go through the conditional use process with the city. It won't happen overnight, but we're optimistic and hopeful we can get approval to restore this building to its original beauty.

We're excited to see where this project goes and look forward to sharing updates along the way.
