Some client interviews don’t just gather facts. They shape the entire case.
Trauma changes memory. Communication. Disclosure. Litigation strategy. If lawyers don’t understand that, they can unintentionally damage both the client relationship and the case itself.

Representing Survivors of Sexual Abuse in Litigation CLE explores trauma-informed advocacy in sexual abuse civil litigation — including intake, interviewing, client communication, and navigating parallel criminal proceedings. Modern litigation requires more than knowing the law.

Memorial Day. Some of us are happy for a day off. But we should pause.

Somewhere right now a mother, a wife, a child is standing at a grave with small flags in hand. They need a moment, and we owe them the silence to have it.

These were our people. They had plans. They had someone they loved who loved them back. They gave it all — not because they had to, but because they believed in something larger than themselves.

That is the American story, told not in marble but in names. So many lives, lived with honor. Think of them and say thank you, even quietly. They earned our remembrance. Let’s give it.

Join NOBA's Property Law Committee on Thursday, May 21, for a discussion of Subsurface Rights and Testing the Limits of Eminent Domain. This CLE examines how Louisiana property law is being reshaped by the combined pressures of increasingly layered subsurface uses and the expanding use of eminent domain in modern energy infrastructure. Focusing on cases involving pipeline-on-pipeline servitudes, CCS and CO₂ pipeline expropriation, and recent judicial skepticism toward revenue-driven takings, the program explores how courts are being challenged to interpret traditional doctrines of servitude scope, exclusivity, and public use, and to reconcile longstanding property principles with evolving demands for infrastructure. It further examines how, under current case law and legislative developments, fundamental questions about who controls the subsurface and the limits of state-delegated taking power have emerged. Think about it: lawyers see what voters usually don't. They see courtroom skill and competence. Professionalism under pressure. Fairness. Preparation. Judicial temperament. That's why NOBA surveys the lawyers who work in the system every day and have firsthand experience with the candidates.

The NOBA Judicial Poll remains one of the most trusted tools voters rely on in judicial elections. It reflects the informed perspective of lawyers who work in the system every day. Not campaign slogans. Not advertising.

Before you vote, review the Judicial Poll results. https://lnkd.in/g_CjEeHA
