The minimum amount required is $15,000 per injured party, $30,000 per accident and $25,000 for property damage. However, this minimal policy will often times not provide you the financial means for proper medical care or adequate compensation if you are involved in a serious accident. That is why it is recommended to also purchase a policy for uninsured/underinsured coverage. If it turns out, you were hit by a vehicle not carrying insurance or not enough to cover your damages and medical needs your uninsured policy can be used to supplement.
