I am proud to have drafted legislation to officially renamed the Treme’ Recreational Community Center, the Jerome Smith Recreation Community Center at Treme’. The City Council also declared Friday May 21, 2027 as Jerome ‘Big Duck’ Smith Day.

The council also recognize Jamari Juluke and Jaelan Richard of The GoldPrint Fashion Club.

The GoldPrint Fashion Club is a student-led organization that provides young people with opportunities to explore fashion, design, creativity, and self-expression.

It is fitting that we recognize our youth, on the same day the council celebrated the legacy of Mr. Smith as he was known for being a big advocate for the youth of our city.

Back-to-school celebration for children with disabilities at Chick-fil-A Algiers

There was face painting, arts and crafts, delicious Chick-fil-A, and lots of fun, with visits from McGruff the Crime Dog, NOPD, and the Chick-fil-A Cow.

We will be at Chick-Fil-A in Algiers, hosting a back to school party for our scholars with disabilities.

We will also be hosting a BYMBO(Bywater Marigny Business Organization) mixer at St. Noir Cafe in St. Roch. Refreshments will be provide by Morrow’s restaurant.
