*PSA to anyone who’s considering doing a real estate transaction via Facebook etc*

If you are looking for a rental and the person you’re communicating with says something like “mail me a deposit check or Venmo me $100 for the application fee and I’ll mail your the keys”
Don’t do it! It is most likely a scam!

I’ve received 3 calls this week from people asking me if one of my listings is for rent because they saw it posted on Facebook market place. The person who posted it has a profile stating he’s in Idaho. This person wanted each of them to send him money to which he promised to mail the keys.

Hire a real estate professional who is licensed and can assist in helping to find you a rental. We have a database via MLS that we can search through to find you what you’re wanting. Unfortunately, many people in the public fall victim to this scam and it doesn’t need to be that way.
