Client had been charged in violation of La R.S. 14:108.1 (C), La R.S. 14:108 (C), and La R.S. 14:69.B.(2). No plea offer was given by the State. So we took it to trial. Not guilty on all counts on a directed verdict.

A home is often considered a point of pride for its owner, and the neighborhood it resides in quickly becomes the owner’s community, or if you will, village. Verite News recently provided certain Eastover Residents, clients of The Khan Law Firm, with an opportunity to express frustrations arising from years of empty promises, neglected or derelict amenities, ongoing prohibited use of defunct subdivision properties, and lack of transparency from the community’s board. Despite the board’s downward movement in operation, a ballot measure proposing a $500 increase to Eastover parcel fee will be voted on during this Saturday’s election, April 29, 2023.

About 32,000 homeowners got elevation grants and many said they were told they could use money for repairs instead of raising homes after Hurricane Katrina & Rita.
