On December 11, 2024, we continued our legal education at The Gallery Venue in New Orleans. Judge Carl Barbier, Federal District Court Judge for the Eastern District of Louisiana, led the discussion on "How to Survive, and Thrive, in Federal Court".

Judge Barbier gave advice on many dos and don'ts in Federal Court, and tips for oral arguments and brief writing. This CLE helped give practical advice for attorneys on how to best serve their clients when they find themselves practicing in Federal court.

On November 13, 2024, we continued our legal education at Copper Vine in New Orleans.
Judge Simone Levine, Orleans Criminal District Court, and Judge Amanda Calogero, Jefferson Parish Juvenile Court, led the discussion on “Trauma Informed Courts and the Rule of Law.”

Both judges shared tips on how we as attorneys can best assist our clients who have undergone traumatic events, in both the criminal and civil context. This CLE helped shed light on many things we as attorneys can do to comfort our clients and ease their worries in a stressful, unknown, and traumatizing period of their lives.

On March 20, 2024, we continued our legal education at Annunciation in New Orleans. Judge Monique Morial, gave an insightful CLE presentation on the “Best Practices in First City Court..” She shared tips, rules, and intricacies on the advantages of filing certain claims in First City Court. This CLE continued our overarching theme of iron sharpening iron so we can advocate to the best of our abilities for our clients.
