You may have read or heard about physicians using Diffusion Tensor Imaging to produce images of an injured brain. But even the most precise images are subject to expert interpretations. To develop more objective exam results, the Concussion Group has developed a quantitative DTI exam that measures the level of brain injury across 48 regions of the brain and then compares that data to age and gender specific controls obtained from 1,500 neurotypical brains in a control group, which are then segmented to match the demographics of each patient. The imaging procedure and exam results are all tied together with consultations with founding radiologist Edward Soll, M.D. who supports each patient’s legal and medical teams, including expert witness testimony as needed.
Key Facts About the Concussion Group
-- The Concussion Group produces a 25-page report about each patient’s brain based on a 45-minute passive exam that happens in one of our designated imaging facilities.
-- The quantitative DTI exam measures the extent of brain injury in cases where routine MRI and CT scans are reported as normal.
