The USPTO has announced that trademark fees are increasing starting on January 18th. Besides an increase in the fees, there is also a new fee structure based on the type and amount of goods/services indicated in the application.

After a 2 year initial wait, I was initially denied mine due to a ruling that it was too similar to another mark (and discussed the issue with numerous other attorneys that all told me to give up) before finally talking to Rick and hiring him. Gibson Brands, Inc. has filed a trademark cancellation proceeding against DiMarzio Inc. (Cancellation No.: 92083842) for their double cream pickup as well as the PAF mark.

The brand is arguing that the marks have become generic after years of use across the industry.
