Yale Undergraduate Legal Aid Association YULAA organizes direct service legal programs and volunteer opportunities in New Haven and Connectic

The Yale Undergraduate Legal Aid Association is a student service organization open to those interested in justice, law, and human rights. Founded in 2016, YULAA is Yale’s largest law-related student organization and one of the largest student service organizations with over 150 members. We offer a myriad of opportunities for undergraduates to participate in meaningful legal aid work in collaborat

ion with New Haven organizations. In the past, students have worked on projects with groups like Junta for Progressive Action, Apostle Immigrant Services, the Connecticut Parent Advocacy Center, the Umbrella Center for Domestic Violence Services, Partnership for Strong Communities/Connecticut Fair Housing, the Connecticut Veterans Legal Center, and the New Haven Legal Assistance Association. YULAA members do actual legal work, whether that be translating legal documents, writing affadavits for asylum-seekers, or assisting with pardon applications. In addition to increasing access to justice through the different legal aid projects, YULAA members get exclusive access to advocacy events, guest speaker panels, and membership events.
