A new attorney missed key postpartum depression tests in a murder case.

Not a small oversight. Those tests are often central to building a legitimate insanity defense, and skipping them can cost a defendant everything.

This is exactly why some cases take a different kind of preparation and experience, and why not every attorney should take on a murder case.

If you or someone you know is facing serious charges, the attorney you choose matters more than people realize.

No, a missing Miranda warning does not automatically make your case disappear.

TV has convinced everyone that skipping the Miranda warning means an automatic win. In reality, the remedy is usually limited to suppressing statements made during that interrogation, not the physical evidence, witness testimony, or anything else the case is built on.

A Miranda violation is real and a good defense attorney will use it, but whether it actually helps your case depends on the facts. That is not something a crime drama or a Google search can tell you.

Your AI chats aren't as private as you think, and they can be used against you in court.

From ChatGPT searches to deleted chat logs, digital forensics and subpoenas can bring that history right back into the light.

Using AI isn't a crime, but what you ask and when can speak volumes about your state of mind, and in a courtroom, that matters.

Insanity defense cases are some of the hardest to win. Just look at Andrea Yates.

Contrary to popular belief, proving a legal insanity defense takes far more than a diagnosis. It takes credible medical evidence, the right legal strategy, and a jury willing to accept it.

Ever wonder what it's actually like when your attorney visits you in prison? 👀 Not what TV makes it look like.

Between security screening, metal detectors, and no cell phones allowed (yes, even for attorneys, everything has to be pre-downloaded before you go in), it's a whole process before a conversation even starts. And inmate calls? Fully recorded, fully monitored, which is exactly why what you say on the phone matters just as much as what you say in court.

This is the side of criminal defense most people never see: the prep, the access, the constant awareness that everything is being watched or recorded. It's part of what makes real, in-person representation so important.

Have a loved one who needs representation, or questions about visiting or communicating with someone who's incarcerated?

Send us a DM, we would love to help you navigate this process.

Some of the hardest cases we take on never make headlines the way criminal trials do, but they matter just as much.

Civil rights cases exist because institutions and individuals don't always police themselves. Whether it's excessive force, discrimination, or retaliation, these cases force accountability that otherwise wouldn't happen. Every verdict on our results page represents someone who refused to let an injustice go unanswered and a team that went to trial to prove it.

Swipe through a few of the verdicts our team has secured for clients across Connecticut.

Civil cases aren't just about money. They're about accountability.
