We love supporting our arts community, and the Dare Blackburn Fine Arts Scholarship is one of the ways we show that. We started this scholarship four years ago, and each year we award $3,500 to a graduating senior at the Epiphany School of Global Studies. The winner is chosen by a panel of leaders in our local arts community, and this year the scholarship was awarded to Vivian Goerss. Vivian is attending the Liverpool Institute of Performing Arts in the Fall, and has been involved with the theater programs at Epiphany and New Bern. Congratulations Vivian and best of luck with all your future endeavors!

Good morning from beautiful snowy downtown New Bern! We got more snow here this weekend, than we have in 37 years Our physical offices are closed today, with our team safe at home working remotely (except for me, since i can walk here). So much fun last night for the opening of New Bern Civic Theatre’s production of Steve Martin’s “The Underpants”! We are honored to be able to support the arts in our little corner of the world, and appreciate everyone at NBCT who help provide such a wonderful experience —the staff, the volunteers, and the patrons. 😊 We had an extra special treat at intermission last night—our chef researched six recipes that were popular in Düsseldorf Germany in 1910, and made them for everyone to enjoy at intermission. 😀 Hope to see you at the theater next week, with shows on Thursday, Friday, and two on Saturday, and Sunday.
