My name is Devin Mills, and New Albany has always been my home. I may have lived in other areas, but I always saw those periods of my life as a temporary absence. I graduated from New Albany High School in 2010 and spent the next several years pursuing my education—earning a Bachelor of Accountancy, a Master of Taxation, a Juris Doctor, and a Master of Laws in Taxation. I was admitted to practice law in 2019 and became a Certified Public Accountant in 2020.
Today, I live in New Albany with my fiancé, Brandi Young, our two sons, Jaxx and Riven, and our dog, Emma. I am so blessed and grateful to have many members of my family and closest friends nearby—their support makes everything I do possible.
With that support, I recently opened my own law firm, HD Mills Law, located at the top of Bankhead Street. My practice focuses on estate planning, elder law, probate matters, tax law, business law, and related areas. Initial consultations are always free (call 662-539-9565).
I know from experience that nonprofit law can be one of the most complex areas of the law, especially when federal nonprofit status (often referred to as 501(c)(3)) is involved. That experience is exactly why I’m excited to serve as a director for Union County Animal Shelter & Rescue. I hope to use my background to help this organization start strong, operate with confidence, and grow into an irreplaceable resource for the animals and residents of Union County. I’m honored to be a part of something that will make a lasting impact on the community that means so much to me.
