When tenants face the possibility of eviction, finding a path forward can be difficult. MetroWest Mediation’s Housing Mediation Program brings landlords and tenants to the table to identify resources, work through challenges, and reach agreements that help prevent displacement.

We’re grateful to the Rockland Trust Foundation for its generous support of MetroWest Mediation’s Housing Mediation Program, helping prevent evictions and keep residents in their homes.

Through the program, we bring landlords and tenants together to access resources, negotiate payment plans, and find workable agreements that help people stay housed.

For hundreds of families, MetroWest Mediation’s Juvenile Harassment Prevention Order mediation has provided something they often hoped to find in court: peace of mind, an end to the harassment, and a path toward closure.

In today’s Cognoscenti piece, Seth Izen and Andrea De Mayo-Clancy explore why this program matters—and how a mediation process built around listening, understanding, and finding workable solutions achieves an agreement rate of nearly 90% in these cases.

We’re excited to share that MetroWest Mediation received a grant from the Sincere Foundation! We’d like to thank Sincere Foundation for recognizing our work to keep community members housed by working out agreements between landlords and tenants to prevent evictions. With this generous grant, Sincere Foundation directly supports our mission and impact in the community.

Sincere Foundation has awarded $250,000 in new grants to twenty organizations that address basic needs in Massachusetts communities. With this most recent round of funding, the Foundation reaches a milestone of $1 million awarded to 56 organizations in its three years of operation. We’re honored to be recognized.
