On to the next chapter! While each day is an opportunity for a reset, the new year demarcates an even bigger notion of resets, goals, and growth. 2025 is finally the year I will be transitioning to my specialty in construction law. I will be offering my services for Rule 31 civil mediation for construction disputes only and I will be offering consulting services to contractors. 🥂 Whatever it is you are hoping for in 2025, may you achieve all you seek and more! I know brilliant people on both party lines. I know unkind, ignorant people on both party lines. There are troublemakers and liars on both party lines. There are genuinely well intentioned, honest people on both party lines. I have often wondered how people, when faced with a set of issues to resolve, “proof” to consider, and a litany of resolutions that will fix everything, how half the room will walk away fiercely believing “A” and the other half of the room walks away believing “Z”. Trust me when I say, it has nothing to do with a lack of education, intelligence, class, status, or money. All I can say at the end of the day is this: Thank God we live in a mostly free society. We enjoy freedoms most of the world would die for.

Birth injury case in Nashville with historic jury verdict. Congrats to the legal team who pulled this off. 👏

This is the largest verdict of its kind in Tennessee history.

Today is a day to celebrate women. Women were created differently from men. No matter what today’s society attempts to communicate about the sexes, we are different, and we are different by design. Women give men their emotional and mental strength. Just like men, give us their physical strength. I am fortunate that I have a circle of colleagues, family, and friends, who fiercely support me and believe in me. That has not always been the case. Life is lonely without supportive people in your life, especially other women. “Every woman’s success should be an inspiration to another. We are strongest when we support each other.”

Well…sometimes I choose understanding, forgiveness and resilience. It’s a goal. We all need goals. But I certainly think this is true. Discord so easily can creep into relationships and situations where we had the best intentions.
