Move over Space-X. Here comes Dread-X. Caveat: For years I have fought the hard fight against rental hard wheeled, front wheel drive, stand-up e- scooters menacing our sidewalks in Nashville. Not only are they a menace to the drunk tourists who rent and drive them for half a mile from bar to bar… but they leave them laying in the middle of sidewalk for people to trip over...

This is a lot different. This is a rear wheel drive, inflated tire, dual braked, key started, front and back lit, privately owned, seated electric scooter, that is only permitted on bike paths and bike lanes, with a bell, on a smal, yet increasingly congested island.

It has a 20 mile range at 15 mph. The best part of this will resonate with the Nantucket year-round community, especially if you've ever tried to park a car anywhere on this island between June and October…

The attached video has me driving for the first time in a friends yard on his lawn (filled wth mole holes.)

That being said, you'll probably never see me on other surface without a helmet… I predict these things will be all the rage on Nantucket in the upcoming months and years… Plus, for my hippie friends, very little carbon footprint :-)
