Join the TBA Adoption Law Section in person Sept. 11 at the TBA’s new Nashville office for a full day of programming covering the latest developments in adoption law.

The annual case law review has been expanded to an hour and a half this year and will feature Sammi Maifair and Nicole Fisher of the Department of Children’s Services, who will take a look at recent cases and developments impacting adoption law practitioners.

The forum will also cover legislative updates, foster parent representation, and a PACA refresher.

⛳️ That’s a wrap on Topgolf: Estate Planning Tee-Off 2026! Last week, TBA members sharpened their estate planning skills with three hours of practical CLE programming covering everything from effective initial consultations and federal tax hazards to courtroom etiquette in probate court.

After the presentations, attendees traded the conference room for the Topgolf bays, enjoying lunch and putting their skills to the test. ⚖️🏌️

Today marks the 106th anniversary of Tennessee’s pivotal vote to ratify the 19th Amendment, a historic milestone in the fight for women’s suffrage. 🗳️

On Aug. 18, 1920, the Tennessee House of Representatives voted to ratify the amendment, following the Senate’s vote five days earlier. Tennessee’s ratification became the final vote needed to bring the 72-year struggle for women’s suffrage to fruition, thanks to the tireless efforts of suffragists across the state, the leadership of Memphis Rep. Joseph Hanover and the tie-breaking vote of Rep. Harry T. Burn.
