When everyone looks good on paper, how do you stand out? That was the question at the center of Adams & Reese's new Lunch & Learn series, and more than 100 law students at the University of South Carolina School of Law showed up to find out.

Adams & Reese Partner Kirby Shealy and Associate Caroline Murphy, based in the firm's Columbia office, led the first of eight sessions this fall. Kirby and Caroline walked students through the evolution of law firm recruiting, from traditional on-campus interviews to year-round engagement and earlier timelines, and shared practical guidance on application excellence, making a strong impression beyond grades, and turning networking into a competitive advantage.

Kirby and Caroline recognized the need to meet students where they are, with one clear message: it is never too soon or too late to start building relationships and taking control of your legal career. Seven more schools are on the schedule this fall, including Southern University Law Center, Tulane University Law School, South Texas College of Law Houston, Jacksonville University, Loyola University New Orleans College of Law, and Florida A&M University College of Law.

Wishing everyone a happy and well-deserved Labor Day!

Adams & Reese was well represented at Hand in Paw's signature event, Picasso Pets: Wags to Riches, this past weekend. Todd Engelhardt, Partner in Charge of our office and Committee Chair, serves on Hand in Paw's Board of Directors and was joined by fellow attorneys Danielle Douglas and Ben Thomas for an evening dedicated to the life-changing connections between people and the animals who inspire them.

Hand in Paw's mission to improve lives through the healing power of the human-animal bond resonates deeply with our firm's commitment to community involvement and service. Events like Picasso Pets make that mission possible, and we're proud to show up and be part of it.
