Being a mom of four: with my oldest in their twenties and my youngest at 14: plus a 10-year-old grandson, I’ve seen every stage of the Southwest Florida lifestyle! From the toddler years to the teenage "what are we doing today?" phase, I know how important it is to find those local gems that keep everyone happy.

If you’re looking for plans today, I have a local tip for you. Today is Community Day at the Rookery Bay Environmental Learning Center in Naples! It’s one of those hidden gems that is absolute magic for families of all ages (my grandson would love the touch tanks!).

From 9 AM to 2 PM today, they have free admission, kayak demos, and sea stars and crabs up close. As someone who has raised a family here and is now watching the next generation grow up in SWFL, I can tell you that spots like this are what make living here so special.
