🌓 Your favorite vacation spot might make a lousy daily commute.

That’s the part people skip when deciding between Myrtle Beach and North Myrtle Beach.

They remember the beach. The restaurants. That one perfect week.

But when you move here, you’re also choosing grocery runs, doctor appointments, traffic, and how far you’ll drive to the places you actually use.

And ā€œNorth Myrtle Beach has less trafficā€ doesn’t help much if everything you do is farther south. šŸ¤·ā€ā™‚ļø

Both have plenty to offer. The question is: which location makes sense for YOUR everyday life?

I break it down in my latest blog:
šŸ‘‰ [Myrtle Beach vs. North Myrtle Beach: Which One Is Better for Full-Time Living? https://livingbiggmyrtlebeach.com/blog/myrtle-beach-vs-north-myrtle-beach

Read this before you fall in love with a kitchen in a location you haven’t figured out yet.

Which gets your vote—Myrtle Beach or North Myrtle Beach—and WHY?

ā€œLocals Summerā€ is here, and THIS is one of the biggest reasons I love living along the Grand Strand. šŸŒ“ā˜€ļø

Everybody talks about Myrtle Beach in June, July and August.

Me? Give me OCTOBER. šŸ˜‚

The ocean is still warm enough for a swim on plenty of days. The humidity finally starts backing off. The restaurants aren’t quite as crazy. And finding a parking spot near the beach doesn’t feel like winning the damn lottery.

THIS is when the locals start coming out of hiding.

🌊 **THE BEACHES:** Still beautiful, still plenty of sunshine, and a whole lot more room to spread out your chairs.

šŸ¤ **THE RESTAURANTS:** Getting a table at your favorite waterfront spot becomes a little easier. The MarshWalk in Murrells Inlet is especially nice this time of year.

⛳ **THE GOLF:** Cooler mornings, comfortable afternoons, and some of the best golfing weather of the year. Although fall golf season brings plenty of visitors of its own!

🚤 **THE WATERWAY:** Boating, fishing, sunset cruises. You can still enjoy the water without feeling like you’re melting.

šŸ” **THE NEIGHBORHOODS:** This is also a fantastic time to explore what living here is actually like, especially if you’re considering relocating.

And here’s what a lot of vacationers don’t realize.

September and October aren’t when Myrtle Beach shuts down.

They’re when a whole DIFFERENT side of the Grand Strand starts showing up.

Now, don’t get me wrong. We’ve still got fall festivals, golfers, weekend visitors and plenty going on.

But compared to the madness of midsummer?

I’ll take this all day long.

I’ve lived here 13 years, and October is STILL one of my favorite months.

**Grand Strand locals, what’s YOUR favorite thing about October down here?** šŸ‘‡
