Comings and goings…this is the Battle Family’s wire drawer. Every family has one. If your family doesn’t, then you’re not the family’s wire person.
Every couple months, you gather up the charging wires around the house and stick’em in this drawer - probably near the kitchen. Maybe wind them around your fist and stick’em back in the drawer.
Every couple months, you pull’em back out on the breakfast table to organize’em. Maybe (like me) you bought an Amazon organizer pouch. That’s always empty.
Throw some away? The 2 year old RC car charger; the stubby wire; the 5 foot long charger. You look at’em. And then put’em back in the drawer.
Because a family member (not the wire person) will one day ask you (the wire person) where’s the charger for the [insert obscure device name].
Better rise to the occasion, wire person!

Comings and goings…this is Miller Genuine Draft - “MGD” for those in the know.
Launched in 1985 by Miller Brewing, MGD was in the marketing paint before for all the hippy b**r showed up.
I wasn’t drinking alcohol in the late ‘80’s-90’s, but Miller ads made me wish I was.
There was the guy on the beach. Pouring water out of his boot to make an island around this (what I’ll describe as) attractive woman.
There were the ghost cowboys in the bar jamming out to the Allman Brothers.
And the cactuses who stole MGD from the back of the delivery guy’s truck. The special effects aren’t Jurassic Park, but you get the idea.
These all came on MTV - all the time.
And lest we forgot, Rusty Wallace winning the Miller Genuine Draft 400 at the Richmond International Speedway on September 19, 1992 to break a 14 month losing streak in his Pontiac Grand Prix nicknamed “Midnight.”

Comings and goings…this is
Sean Redmond, owner and operator of Trunk Player Surf & Skate located at 109 Ash St. , North Myrtle Beach, SC.
So named because Sean started his business in 2015 selling t-shirts and hats out of his 2002 Impala. As he said, “Not the cool Impala. Not the rap video one.”
Buying a skateboard here is an experience unto itself. Part art exhibition and part spiritual instruction, Sean is your guru.
“I love the freedom of skating. The creativity. I can go where I want. Up or down. When you hop on a board, it’s a blank canvas.”

Comings and goings…this is an egg - light blue and sturdy. Because no matter how hard the times, there’s always eggs.
Wife says, “The kids are gone, and I’m having dinner with friends. You’re on your own for dinner.” Like the plane is going down, and they miscounted parachutes.
Man says, “Salute to you, fine lady. Don’t worry about me.” Because he knows there’s eggs in the fridge.
Some cheese, toast, butter. Maybe the week old rotisserie chicken?
Check on him in a month? Still standing strong, holding down the fort, chopping wood and minding his own business.
Like the squirrels and birds, we know how to survive.

Comings and goings…this is the book exchange at the Sun Burst Mercantile store in Rock River, Wyoming (pop. 218).
Passing through, I donated Mona Lisa Overdrive, a sci-fi novel by William Gibson. See Paul, the friendly cashier holding up my copy. A good read.
If you’re curious, it’s waiting for you in Rock River. Or maybe somebody grabbed it. Pretty sure in Rock River you have to make your own fun.
