๐ฅต Yes, I know. Itโs approximately 847ยฐ outside and Iโm about to tell you to think about your FURNACE. Just hear me out. ๐
September is here, and hopefully cooler Oklahoma weather isnโt too far behind. Plus, according to a little old-fashioned persimmon folklore, those spoons showing up inside the seeds mean we should get our snow shovels ready this winter. โ๏ธ๐ฅ
Is it scientific? Not even a little. Am I willing to believe anything promising cooler weather right now? Absolutely. ๐
So while we wait, here are your September homeowner must-dos:
๐ Prep your furnace for winter
Give it a checkup before you actually need it. The first cold snap is NOT when you want to discover something isnโt working.
๐ Service yard equipment before storage
Your mower and other lawn equipment have worked hard all summer. Clean them up, service what needs servicing, and get them ready for their well-earned winter vacation.
๐ Sweep & inspect your chimney
Planning on that first cozy fire of the season? Make sure your chimney is clean and ready before you light it up. ๐ฅ
And the DONโTs:
๐ Donโt wait for the first cold snap
๐ Donโt light the first fire without a clean chimney
A little prep now means fewer surprises later. And if the persimmons are right, Future You might be VERY glad you handled this stuff early. ๐
Be honest...
๐ Team Bring On Fall
๐ Iโll believe it when the temperature drops below 90ยฐ ๐
