🥵 Yes, I know. It’s approximately 847° outside and I’m about to tell you to think about your FURNACE. Just hear me out. 😂

September is here, and hopefully cooler Oklahoma weather isn’t too far behind. Plus, according to a little old-fashioned persimmon folklore, those spoons showing up inside the seeds mean we should get our snow shovels ready this winter. ❄️🥄

Is it scientific? Not even a little. Am I willing to believe anything promising cooler weather right now? Absolutely. 😅

So while we wait, here are your September homeowner must-dos:

👍 Prep your furnace for winter
Give it a checkup before you actually need it. The first cold snap is NOT when you want to discover something isn’t working.

👍 Service yard equipment before storage
Your mower and other lawn equipment have worked hard all summer. Clean them up, service what needs servicing, and get them ready for their well-earned winter vacation.

👍 Sweep & inspect your chimney
Planning on that first cozy fire of the season? Make sure your chimney is clean and ready before you light it up. 🔥

And the DON’Ts:

👎 Don’t wait for the first cold snap
👎 Don’t light the first fire without a clean chimney

A little prep now means fewer surprises later. And if the persimmons are right, Future You might be VERY glad you handled this stuff early. 😉

What a wild ride for these two! From waiting for a couple in Maine to sell their house so they could buy Keith and Theresa's home in SC and then driving all the way to Oklahoma to buy their next home to be closer to their family.
The road was full of bumps but we made it to the finish line!

📚✏️ Backpacks are packed, alarms are set, and parents everywhere are mentally preparing for the return of the school drop-off line. 😅

Back-to-school season is officially here! Wishing all of our students, teachers, staff, and families an amazing year filled with new friends, big accomplishments, and plenty of reasons to smile.

👍 Clean Brick & Stone Exteriors - Summer is a great time to knock off dirt, grime, and buildup from your exterior surfaces. A little cleaning can make your home look fresh without needing a whole new house.

👍 Address Wasps, Mosquitoes & Insects - The bugs are busy this time of year, and apparently they’re looking for a place to stay. Don’t let your home become the neighborhood’s hottest new rental. 🐝🦟
