Big news! Dave Givskud, Loryn Schlinker and Paul Shibley have unanimously decided that Shibley Law should be a 2026 Captain’s Level Sponsor of the 2026 Grand Haven Coast Guard Festival! Dave and Paul live in Grand Haven. We will be offering a chance to win 4 tickets to the Fireworks Concert finale with prime seating for the fireworks. “WE LIVE HERE, WE WORK HERE” is certainly true and we also love the fun of our community’s biggest annual celebration! Paul is appearing on 92.1 WGHN with Mary Ellen Murphy tomorrow morning at 8:45 am and this hopefully will be discussed as well as our sponsorship of Taste of Muskegon ❤️

MAKE SURE YOU ANSWER ALL YOUR INSURANCE APPLICATION QUESTIONS ACCURATELY! This is a recent Michigan Supreme Court decision where Progressive was allowed to void a policy for fraud. Insurers are scrutinizing reasons to deny coverage when people make claims! Working with a reputable insurance agent is one way to make sure your insurance company will cover you after years of making payments! Shibley Law is here to fight for you when there has been a wrongful denial of coverage but making sure your application is 100 percent accurate can prevent a very frustrating denial of coverage!

This was a terrible hit and run accident where the at fault driver tried to flee from the scene. However, Paul Shibley of Shibley Law found them, served them and got their insurance company to pay. Paul visited this clients home frequently to make sure the case progressed as quickly as possible. The case settled through Facilitative Mediation when the at fault parties’ insurer were persuaded to fairly compensate our wonderful clients.

This Memorial Day we take time to remember our military heroes who gave the ultimate sacrifice to assure our freedoms. Those freedoms are enshrined in the Bill of Rights including the Seventh Amendment which recognizes the right to federal civil jury trial. That right has also been adopted by Michigan’s Constitution. Shibley Law partner Dave Givskud is an Air Force veteran. God bless all of those who have served and are serving and we are humbled and awed by our veterans who died so we may be free.

Construction Season is here. Make sure to slow your speed, be wary of others, keep an eye out for construction workers, and, when necessary, Zipper Merge.

Let's talk about the zipper merge.

When approaching a construction zone in which a lane is reduced, remember to use the zipper merge. To keep traffic moving, drivers should use both lanes, with drivers taking turns alternating into the open lane.

Hear from F/Lt. Mike Shaw on why the zipper merge is the correct way to merge in a construction zone in this WWJ Newsradio 950 interview: https://www.audacy.com/wwjnewsradio/news/local/michigan-state-police-urge-drivers-to-use-the-zipper-merge
