Fun fact. Shibley Law founding partner Paul Shibley became a lawyer because he wanted to fish all over the world and that wasn’t going to happen unless he really applied himself. So he became a lawyer and is really good at that. It’s going to be a gorgeous week perfect for trying to entice pre-spawn brown trout with egg flies. However, there will be no fishing until Sunday when the Shibleys are going to try and get Brooks and Erin tied onto some gnarly king salmon maybe at the White River walk in access below Taylor Bridge. West Michigan is maybe the most beautiful place on earth as the leaves change colors and we are kissed with the last of the sun’s warmth before November’s deep cold. Last year a man was in his yard working when his neighbor’s dog burst into the yard between a gap in the shrubs. The dog viciously attacked the man’s 13 year old very docile lab mix, trying to seemingly disembowel the dog. The man had to reach into the tornado of attacking dog while his dog tried to get away. The man was bitten on the forearms by the attacking dog. Both the man and his dog needed emergency care. We tried to resolve the case through direct negotiations with the homeowner’s insurance. They were highly unreasonable so a lawsuit was filed. The dog attack took away the feeling of “Our home is our castle” for the man, his wife and their young children. Today the case resolved for 10 times more than the insurance company offered before a lawsuit was filed. Shibley Law doesn’t take the ridiculous starting offers from insurance companies. A House Divided - Shibley Law style! Loryn Schlinker is a huge Detroit Lions fan. Paul Shibley grew up in Buffalo, NY and idolizes Josh Allen. Lions vs. Bills game tonight. Paul proposes that if the Bills win, Loryn has to buy the office lunch tomorrow from Paul’s choice, The Hearthstone Bistro. Loryn, do you believe in your Lions enough to take the bet? Shibley Law managing partner Paul Shibley loves fly fishing. He’s off to EPIC Angling & Adventure’s Safari Camp not far from Kodiak Island for a week of fishing and sharing the streams with 900 lbs brown bears. However, even from Alaska Paul just received a $250,000 settlement offer for his client who was struck in Kent County. 💪 While Paul is away both Dave Givskud and Loryn Schlinker will be available at 616-333-3333 to help with any needs.
