“Find out who you are and do it on purpose.” — Dolly Parton

We’re surrounded by influencers, celebrities, musicians, politicians and public figures. And at the end of the day, I think we all find people we look up to for different reasons.

Dolly Parton was one of those people for me.

Of course she was an icon. I loved the music, the big hair, the rhinestones and everything that made Dolly Dolly. But what I admired most went far beyond any of that.

It was her spirit. 💕💕

She achieved an incredible level of success, yet somehow never seemed to lose her kindness or her sense of where she came from. She continued to reinvent herself and remain relevant for generations—something I especially admired as a woman. In a world that can be incredibly unforgiving to women as they age, particularly women in the public eye, Dolly never seemed to let anyone else decide when her time was up.

She just kept going. Kept evolving. Kept working. And kept being Dolly.

But perhaps most importantly, she used her success to do good. She didn’t simply have a platform—she did something meaningful with it.

That’s the kind of success I’ve always admired.

Her quote, “Find out who you are and do it on purpose,” means a little more to me today.

There will only ever be one Dolly Parton.

Rest in peace, Dolly. You will be missed. ❤️

🏡 Wait… why do I have to sign something just to see a house?”

I hear this question ALL the time — and I completely understand why buyers ask it.

You find a home online, you’re excited to see it, and suddenly your agent is sending you paperwork before you’ve even stepped through the front door. 😅

Here’s what you need to know:

Before a buyer’s agent personally takes you through a home, you’ll typically be asked to sign a written buyer agreement outlining your relationship with that agent.

That agreement should clearly explain:
• What your agent is doing for you
• How long the agreement lasts
• How your agent may be compensated
• What you’re agreeing to as the buyer

But here’s the important part: you should understand what you’re signing.

I don’t believe in sliding paperwork across the table and saying, “Sign here.” I want my buyers to understand what the agreement means, what their options are, and how compensation works before they sign anything.

And yes — you can still walk into an open house on your own without first signing a buyer agreement. Tour the kitchen. Check the closets. Inspect the pantry. Grab the cookie. 🍪😂

The written agreement comes into play when an agent begins working with you and arranging private showings on your behalf.

Buying a home already comes with enough questions. The paperwork shouldn’t be one of the scary parts.
