🎊Attorney Autumn Williams has done it again!🎊
Back in January 2025, Sora’s canine sibling who was dying of cancer was outside in the evening with their human grandmother. While outside, their neighbors dog came onto Sora’s property, barking at Sora’s canine sister and grandmother. It was dark and late, all Sora knew was that her family was outside and there was another dog on her property barking at them. As such, Sora ran out the front door and was involved in an incident with this other dog. Sora believed she was protecting her family.
On November 18, 2025, nearly 10 months later, a hearing was held and Sora was deemed to be “potentially dangerous.”
Alarmingly, this hearing was held without our clients present as no one ensured that they received notice of the hearing. Therefore, they were unable to defend themselves and Sora. It was upon receiving the ruling from this hearing that they retained our firm.
This “potentially dangerous” designation ignored the clear evidence, municipal code, and other applicable law which DOES NOT allow for a dog to be designated “potentially dangerous” or “dangerous” when there is provocation or when the incident occurs as a result of trespass.
On appeal, it was decided that not only was there trespass onto Sora’s property, but that she was provoked. As such, Sora was not deemed to be a potentially dangerous dog and gets to continue to live her life happily with her family with no terms and conditions.
We are so happy for Sora and her family, and incredibly proud of dedication and tenacity of Attorney Williams!
