An estate plan should grow with your life.

National Estate Planning Month is a helpful reminder to revisit your will, revocable living trust, healthcare directives, and powers of attorney—especially after a change in your family, finances, health, or long-term goals.

As a Mukilteo estate planning attorney, I help individuals and families throughout Washington create and update personalized plans that reflect the people and priorities that matter most.

If it has been a while since you reviewed your documents, I would be glad to help you determine whether your plan still fits your life. Contact Sheets Law, PLLC to get started.

Signing your estate planning documents is a meaningful milestone—but it is not the last step.

Life changes, and your plan should continue to reflect your wishes, the people you care about, and the assets you have worked to protect. A marriage, divorce, new child or grandchild, move, significant financial change, or updates to Washington law can all be good reasons to revisit your wills, revocable living trust, healthcare directives, and powers of attorney.

Even when nothing major has changed, reviewing your estate plan every few years can provide valuable peace of mind.

Swipe through to test your knowledge, then reach out if it may be time for a personalized estate plan review in Mukilteo or the surrounding area.

With fewer than 100 days left in the year, it is a good time to revisit your estate plan.

A change in your family, finances, health, relationships, or priorities may mean your will, revocable living trust, healthcare directives, or powers of attorney no longer reflect your wishes.

I help individuals and families in Mukilteo and throughout Washington create personalized estate and incapacity plans with clarity and care. If it has been a while since you reviewed your documents, contact my office to schedule a conversation.

Planning ahead is one of the best gifts you can leave for the people you care about, but it’s easy to miss important details in the estate planning process. I put together a few commonly overlooked considerations to help you think through the pieces that matter most.

Whether you’re creating an estate plan for the first time or updating an existing one, I’m here to make the process clear and supportive. If questions come up, reach out anytime.

As National Grandparents Day approaches, I’m reminded of how much grandparents shape our lives through their love, wisdom, and steady support. Their influence often inspires us to think more intentionally about the future we want to create for our own families.

At Sheets Law, I help families put clear plans in place so the people they care about most are protected—whether through wills, revocable living trusts, incapacity planning, or other personalized estate planning tools.

Today is a great moment to honor the grandparents who helped shape your story and to reflect on the legacy you want to leave behind. If you’re thinking about how to safeguard your family’s future, I’d be glad to help.

Your estate plan isn’t a “set it and forget it” kind of thing.

A good rule of thumb is to review your plan when you experience one of the Five D’s:

Death — Has someone named in your plan passed away?
Disability — Have health or capacity needs changed for you or a loved one?
Divorce — Has a marriage ended or a relationship significantly changed?
Descendants — New children or grandchildren in the family?
Distance — Has someone you named moved away, or have you relocated?

Even if none of these apply, it’s a good idea to periodically make sure your estate plan still reflects your wishes, your family, and your life today.

When was the last time you reviewed yours?

If your estate plan could use an update—or you’re not sure whether it does—contact Sheets Law to schedule a review.
