The Michigan Legislature is currently debating House Bill 4691 that would drastically change custody laws in the State of Michigan. The new bill would create a presumption of 50/50 custody in almost all cases.

The new law would eliminate 40+ years of established law and eliminate what is known as the "best interest" factors to determine custody of minor children.
