"This isn't a partisan issue, it's an issue of the public good and ensuring the right to vote is protected for everyone," Hricik told The Post and Courier shortly before the judge sent out his decision. "It makes sense it's the right thing.”

South Carolina voters will have an extra 10 days to register to vote after a judge agreed to an extension in the aftermath of Hurricane Helene, a once-in-a-generation storm that devastated the Upstate.

At the Law Offices of Richard A. Hricik, we strive to keep South Carolina safe. Mount Pleasant’s recent proposal to narrow bike lanes on Isle of Palms would put pedestrians in closer contact with motor vehicles. According to the South Carolina Department of Transportation, “In 2020, South Carolina was second in the nation for the number of pedestrian deaths per 100,000 population.”

As an avid cyclist, Richard knows firsthand how dangerous riding would become if the plan is approved. He testified at the IOP bike hearing and will continue to advocate for the safety of cyclists in South Carolina.

Mount Pleasant’s transportation committee considered a survey on changes for the Isle of Palms Connector, a study on traffic hotspots and a safety action plan Monday.
