I commented on a picture of a strutting male turkey someone put on fb. Beautiful bird. I am a turkey hunter. Season is coming up in April. I commented that I would shoot it. Of course,I mean in season on my farm, proper weapon, etc. fb said I had violated community standards by saying I would shoot the bird and I had to take it down. What is the world coming to?

This isn’t fair. A former client named Dixon or something similar has left two messages on my phone at the office. Needs help with a reaffirmation agreement concerning some real property he owns. Problem the name is not clear and he doesn’t leave a phone number. My message on my phone clearly says “leave a phone number that is clear and I will call you back today”. Of course he will assume I am avoiding him and write me up with a negative review. I can’t win this.

I think law practice is very hard. I think bankruptcy cases and divorce cases are some of the most intense emotionally charged work there is. But this is what I do. I have done this work in Morristown for 30 years. I have recently received two negative comments. They hurt. One is from a chapter 13 case that was discharged about 7 years ago. Apparently, the creditor failed to remove the lien when the debt was satisfied through the ch 13 process. I knew nothing about this. If the creditor won’t listen to the Trustee, there is really nothing I can do. But I was willing to try. Client waited 7 years before he contacted me. Sorry I just needed to vent.

I am going to start doing Chapter 13 bankruptcy work again. That’s where you pay back debts over time. Good news no interest payments on credit cards, etc. no garnishments, court dates. The insane increase in house values has created a situation where the homestead exemption of $35,000 is of little help in most cases where land is involved. I’ve been turning away a lot of business. We ate dinner last night at Calhouns on the River in Knoxville. I love this restaurant and go there usually for special occasions. It appears to me the quality of the food and drinks has been going down while the prices are going up. I had a margarita which was undrinkable and a prime rib that you couldn’t cut or chew. While the very nice manager agreed to not charge me for the steak that’s not what I wanted. Please Calhoun’s and other fine restaurants don’t cut the quality even if you have to raise the price. I can handle the one, but not the other.
