Effective June 5, 2020, West Virginia has a Foster Child Bill of Rights that outlines for children the rights that they have as a foster child. If you know or care for a foster child, please feel free to share the attached flier with them.

Our legal team often assists both foster parents and kinship parents in their request to intervene in a pending abuse and neglect matter in counties throughout West Virginia.

Effective June 5, 2020, West Virginia has a Foster and Kinship Parent Bill of Rights that acknowledges the vital role foster parents serve in our State. We hope the attached flier will help foster and kinship parents understand the rights that are now afforded to them. Meet our legal team! Lisa Nair has served as a Paralegal with our predecessor firm and current firm since October 1996. Lisa is a lifelong resident of Monongalia County, and she graduated from Fairmont State University with an Associate's Degree in Business. Lisa also graduated from the Paralegal Program at Penn State University, and successfully completed the national examination offered by the National Association of Legal Assistants (NALA). Lisa served on the Board of Directors as both secretary and treasurer of the Rock Forge Neighborhood House. Lisa is an integral part of our team, and she looks forward to working with you!

Jennifer is a graduate of Bryant and Stratton College with an Associate's Degree in Paralegal Studies. Jennifer is an integral part of our team, and she looks forward to working with you!

Meet our legal team! Kristen Antolini, Esq. is a 2008 graduate of the West Virginia University College of Law. She has a passion for representing children and adults in abuse and neglect matters, and she also practices in the areas of divorce and child custody, adoption law, guardianship law, and criminal law.

Kristen is a Court-Approved Family Court Mediator through the Supreme Court of Appeals of West Virginia, and accordingly, Kristen provides family mediation services for both child custody and property distribution issues.

Kristen can be seen in the courtroom in the Netflix documentary “Recovery Boys” that shows the recovery journey of her client, Jeff.

Meet our legal team! Member Teresa Lyons, Esq. believes in providing quality legal services that are tailored to each client's needs and objectives. She has a varied civil litigation practice with an emphasis on abuse and neglect law, adoption law, guardianship law, education law, family law, estate law, insurance coverage litigation and other types of litigation. Teresa regularly represents individuals, business entities and government officials at both the trial court and appellate levels in both state and federal courts.

Teresa graduated from the West Virginia University College of Law in 1999. She served as a law clerk for the 15th Judicial Circuit in West Virginia for two years, and went into private practice in 2001. In conjunction with her private practice, she currently serves as a lecturer at the West Virginia University College of Law and has spoken at numerous continuing education seminars, primarily on topics related to child welfare and juvenile law. She is a board member for the Monongalia County Youth Services Center and On Eagles Wings, Inc., a therapeutic horsemanship program.
