Love what I do AND what I’ve done for my clients for over 16 years. It’s an honor to be involved with every client I’ve ever had. This client’s home, although a new build, had multiple plumbing issues (reversed hot/cold at several fixtures, a toilet supplied with hot water, and a vanity which had debris inside the plumbing supply pipe which greatly reduced water pressure) , a heat pump which was not functioning correctly, and a roof structure issue that was not caught by the county inspector.

All areas are concerning, but particularly crawls (because I know most of you don’t want to put on your skivvies to go down there!!) Warning to contractors and DIY’s…. I WILL call you out on this! Do it right the first time. For some unknown reason, there’s never enough time to do it right, but plenty of time to do it wrong and pass it off to someone else. Just Don’t!!!

I see the ramifications of not following span tables on a daily basis. This is especially true when dealing with “owner built” decks and additions. Please, if you don’t understand these span tables and you are considering renovating your deck or adding an addition, hire a professional who understands span tables and their meaning

Important News Regarding Radon Testing
in Multifamily Housing

FHFA Directs Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac to Require Radon Standards
On 2/12/21, the nation’s two largest underwriters of housing mortgage loans in the United States, commonly known as Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae, were directed by the Federal Housing Finance Agency (FHFA) to adopt EPA-recommended multifamily measurement and mitigation radon standards.
Within 60 days of 2/12/21, the GSEs must deliver to FHFA:

The draft radon policy for review by FHFA
Proposed exclusions that are applicable to the policy (support exclusions in standard by qualified professional)
Proposed implementation plans for the policies (timeline, number of properties and dwelling units impacted by policies)
