Just a friendly reminder that your attorney will not email you wire instructions, nor will they wire funds to you without confirming your instructions personally. Also, NEVER send your social security number, or other TIN through an email. Be vigilant; fraud and online schemes are on the rise.

As the CT Judicial Branch continues to increase its virtual and remote capabilities, there has been some misunderstanding about what exactly is going forward at this time. When in doubt, always obtain your information directly from the Judicial Branch Website's exclusive COVID-19 information page: https://jud.ct.gov/COVID19.htm

You may also contact our office (we are here weekdays, from 8:30 am - 5:00 pm) with any questions about a specific case.

As a general reminder, at this time, clients and parties are not able to participate in remote status conferences and pretrials. This may change at any time, but currently these virtual meetings are only open to attorneys.

Virtual Court is coming, and coming fast! The Judicial Branch has accelerated their technological advancements at lightening speed over the last several weeks, and we are already seeing the benefits.

Middlesex Superior Court is re-opening!

This is among the other significant updates this week coming straight from the Judicial Branch.

Keep in mind that the Courts are all still operating on reduced days and handling limited types of matters, while also rapidly expanding their remote capabilities.

Jezek & Barbi is very excited by the new developments in virtual court, and likewise increasing our technological capabilities. We look forward to serving our clients in new ways in the coming weeks, as well as seeing what changes are here to stay!

Starting with the Mary 4, 2020 short calendar, the Superior Court will start processing non-arguable short calendar matters. (These are motions that do not require a hearing.)

As an essential business, we are doing our best to meet the needs of our clients, while also complying with the Safe Workplace Rules for Essential Employees. Legal Services are an "Essential Business" in Governor's Lamont's Executive Order issued March 20, 2020.

Jezek & Barbi is open, and we are taking necessary precautions to keep our staff and clients healthy and safe. We are trying to do as much as we can remotely, and limiting access to the interior of the office.
