Hello everyone... sorry I haven't posted in a while, but life during covid is difficult for everyone, and attorneys are no exception. With the courts shutting down for over a year with no trials, and now some shutting down trials again (with only the best intentions of keeping our community safe as possible), it has been hard on clients, their families, and their attorneys. But, rest assured, The Teague Law Firm is open for business and working tirelessly for the people that have entrusted their legal matters to the firm. We have implemented procedures at our office to make sure we keep everyone safe, and we are vaccinated. If you have a loved one or know someone facing criminal charges, domestic matters, or has been seriously injured, we hope you will consider our representation to guide them through the complex, and often daunting, legal process. We are a firm that knows you more than just a legal issue or a case number, you are a human being who deserves to have your rights zealously defended and protected, no matter what you have done or what has been done to you. That is your God-given and constitutional right to receive fairness and competent legal representation no matter what the issue. You have people that depend on you, so we hope you will depend on us to assist you and your loved ones with whatever legal challenges you face. You are not alone in this fight. Give us a call today, 334-834-4500; email us at [email protected], or write us here on our page. May the Lord bless you and yours, and stay safe and healthy. Thank you.

Hebrews 2:14-18English Standard Version (ESV)

14 Since therefore the children share in flesh and blood, he himself likewise partook of the same things, that through death he might destroy the one who has the power of death, that is, the devil, 15 and deliver all those who through fear of death were subject to lifelong slavery. 16 For surely it is not angels that he helps, but he helps the offspring of Abraham. 17 Therefore he had to be made like his brothers in every respect, so that he might become a merciful and faithful high priest in the service of God, to make propitiation for the sins of the people. 18 For because he himself has suffered when tempted, he is able to help those who are being tempted.

Some trust in chariots, and some in horses;
But we will remember the name of the Lord our God.
They have bowed down and fallen;
But we have risen and stand upright.

"Forth in Thy Name"

Forth in thy name, O Lord, I go, My daily labor to pursue; Thee, only Thee, resolved to know, In all I think or speak or do. The task Thy wisdom hath assigned O let me cheerfully fulfill; In all my works Thy presence find, And prove Thy good and perfect will. Thee may I set at my right hand, Whose eyes my inmost substance see, And labor on at Thy command, And offer all my works to Thee. Give me to bear Thy easy yoke, And every moment watch and pray, And still to things eternal look, And hasten to Thy glorious day; For Thee delightfully employ Whate'er Thy bount'ous grace hath giv'n, And run my course with even joy, And closely walk with Thee to heav'n.

INSIGHT: The peace Paul referenced in Philippians 4:7 closely parallels the rest that Jesus offers us in Matthew 11:28-29. Jesus said, “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.” This gift of “soul rest” is the peace that every heart craves—a peace that comes from wholeness and rightness (Isa. 26:3). This peace is much more than the absence of conflict; it is the blessing that comes from resting in Christ and His strength. As we learn to rest in Him, we will experience the resulting peace of His presence and power.

Are there specific struggles that are wearing you down? How might you become more intentional about drawing on Christ’s strength?

So I think I was hacked last night. There was a weird message typed into the post with the picture of mom and the boys. I have deleted it because, well, I could not tell if it was meant to be vulgar, but it certainly didn't sit well with me. It was random and had nothing to do with the post or anything that was posted in comments. It was posted about 9:15 last night and I know I wasn't on FB at that time. Very strange. Anyway, there it is. I apologize to anyone who may have seen it that was confused... I know I was.

Happy 4th of July, ladies and gents. Y'all be safe.

Since you asked..... a little history as to why I named the law firm The Teague Law Firm. Well, quite simply, it isn't Clay Teague's law firm. My father started the firm circa 1982 after his time serving as U.S. Attorney. I don't think I need to elaborate on what kind of name he gave to "Teague" in the legal community over his career. Speaks for itself. After his passing in 2006, my brother, Matt Teague, took control. He, like our dad, is an incredibly intelligent and skilled attorney as well and did an amazing job keeping the firm at its stellar reputation. I, being the least of these, took the reins in 2010 and have been Blessed to lead the firm over the past 7 years. So there it is.... The Teague Law Firm.

And, today was the first time that I have had the pleasure of having representatives of each "Teague" come to visit me at the same time. DeeDee (aka Dianne Teague; aka Mom) brought my brother's three sons and one of my children, William, to the office to surprise me! It was a lot of fun and here is a picture of all of them next to our shingle representing the families of the three men that have been proud to serve as advocates for the past 35 years.

IF YOU REMEMBER, THIS PAST SEPTEMBER I WAS IN THE MIDDLE OF FILING MY FIRST EVER ALABAMA SUPREME COURT BRIEF. I AM HAPPY TO ANNOUNCE THAT THE SUPREME COURT HANDED DOWN ITS DECISION IN FAVOR OF MY CLIENTS. AFFIRMED.

I COULD NOT BE MORE EXCITED FOR MY CLIENTS AND I AM PROUD OF THE ZEALOUS REPRESENTATION THIS OFFICE RENDERED TO HELP THEM REACH THIS GOAL. THANK YOU FOR ALL YOUR PRAYERS AND SUPPORT!!

12/19/2016

I AM VERY PROUD TO ANNOUNCE THAT AFTER A LONG, RIGOROUS PROCESS A CLIENT OF MINE HAS BEEN GRANTED HIS PARDON BY THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES. I AM EXCITED FOR THIS VERY DESERVING INDIVIDUAL AND HAPPY THAT HIS HARD WORK AND THE HARD WORK OF THIS OFFICE HAS SERVED TO ACHIEVE THIS GOAL. TALK ABOUT A GOOD CHRISTMAS PRESENT :)

12/01/2016

I am very proud this week of the work this office has accomplished. Early on in the week, one of my clients accused of murder had his case dismissed by the Court just prior to striking a jury and those responsible for this heinous act were brought to justice. He was able to go home to his mama and his son after 3 years in jail. Also, this office laid the ground work yesterday in a preliminary hearing to show that a man charged with a very serious crime is not the culpable party and should be cleared of charges in the Grand Jury, but that is to be determined. If it goes to the Circuit Court, I can assure you this office will go to trial. I am a proponent of justice, but for those who are actually responsible. That is why I love what I do. I get to help people everyday.

John 1:9-14 (ESV)

The Word Became Flesh

9 The true light, which gives light to everyone, was coming into the world. 10 He was in the world, and the world was made through him, yet the world did not know him. 11 He came to his own, and his own people did not receive him. 12 But to all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God, 13 who were born, not of blood nor of the will of the flesh nor of the will of man, but of God.

14 And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth.

Time to start back up on my first Supreme Court brief today. Briefing schedule has been reinstated and it's time to get it done. Please pray for wisdom and patience as I navigate this very complex matter. Thanks for your support.

Have a very difficult case with which to deal today. It has really weighed upon my heart. One life lost, two others that will lose their freedom and families that will be forever affected. Our world is so broken. It is more apparent than ever for me as I watch the news and the things that are going on right now and in my work. I pray for revival, that this nation would turn back to God and I urge you to do the same. This nation has turned away from Him and the effects are evident. Just watch your news stations.

He who testifies to these things says, “Surely I am coming soon.” Amen. Come, Lord Jesus!
