Our charitable wine bucket auction raises money for scholarship recipients every year. If you would like to donate bottles of wine or accessories for the raffle, please bring them with you to Point Clear. If you are not attending but would like to make a donation, our personal shopper in Fairhope will be happy to pick up wine/accessories on your behalf.
If you are attending the annual meeting we could also use all hands on deck setting up for the auction Friday afternoon and conducting the auction Friday from 6:30 to 8:00 pm.

Three great leaders together! Cadence Bank’s Allison Skinner was the recipient of the Susan Bevill Livingston Award last week given by the Alabama State Bar Women’s Section. She was joined at the reception with former recipients Sumter County District Judge Tammy Montgomery and Maynard Cooper & Gale’s Maibeth Porter.

Attorney Christy Crow of Union Springs was named as the 144th President of the Alabama State Bar on Saturday.
The Women’s Section honored Merceria Ludgood, our 2019 Maud McLure Kelly Award winner, at a luncheon during the Annual Meeting last Thursday. Celia Collins introduced Commissioner Ludgood, and then we enjoyed the honoree’s inspiring remarks.
The Maud McLure Kelly Award, named for the first woman admitted to practice law in Alabama, is presented each year by the Women’s Section to a female attorney who has made a lasting impact on the legal profession and has been a pioneer and leader within the state. Congratulations to Commissioner Ludgood, our very deserving recipient!

The Women’s Section was honored last week to present the Justice Janie L. Shores Scholarship to Jennifer Townsend, a second-year student at Cumberland School of Law. Congratulations, Jennifer! We look forward to seeing all you will do in coming years.
