Why resilience and cold calling were my biggest assets when entering the tax industry.
Here is a look at how I got into this amazing tax industry!Unlike many people who start out as a tax professional and work their way up, my path was a bit different. I actually started out as an insurance agent before making the transition into the service bureau. My focus was helping provide software, which is actually something I still do today.Accomplishing this required a lot of resilience. In the beginning, we were cold calling other tax agencies to offer them our software. I had to learn how to quickly build rapport and connect with people. When people don't know you, you either connect or you get hung up on.Initially, the space was all about seeing how many people I could sell the software to. The main goal was seeing how much money I could make on the back end.
