Okay, I’m about to give away some of my current obsessions, so please don’t make the lines longer than they already are. People still love to tell me Montgomery County is boring, and I love proving them wrong, so welcome to part 2.

Pisco y Nazca in Bethesda is my “we need a real night out” spot. Get the ceviche, get the passion fruit pisco sour, and thank me later.

is a coffee bar hiding inside a brand new car wash, and yes, I know how that sounds. The coffee is so good I’d go even if my car was spotless, which it never is, so a sparkling clean car on the way out is the best kind of bonus.

Millie’s Homemade Ice Cream is the new ice cream shop I’ve only made it to once, with a friend, and I’ve been plotting my way back ever since. The milk comes from local grass-fed cows, so I’m calling it health food, and I’m racing the weather to get there again before it’s officially too cold for ice cream.

And The Organic Butcher is my little secret on chaotic days. I run in for one errand and somehow walk out with their smash burger to eat in the car between appointments. No regrets.

I know a lot of people feel uncertain right now, for one reason or another. And honestly, we tend to be our own harshest critics, myself included.

I’m choosing to focus on what I can actually control. And what I can control is my mindset.

If you hit follow because of my real estate content, don’t worry, that’s not going anywhere. It’s still a core part of this page.

But I’ve been thinking for months about sharing more of what’s outside of real estate too, DIY, furniture refinishing, building, the ongoing project of making my home feel like me. It’s warm, cozy, welcoming, and honestly, it feels like a natural extension of everything I already share here.

Putting this out publicly is partly accountability. I’m hoping it forces me to actually show up and finish some of what’s been sitting unfinished, staring at me every day. And partly, I won’t lie, it’s a little bit about proving my husband wrong. But mostly, I know I’ll be happier coming home to a house that actually feels finished and like mine.

So if you want to be part of this, stick around. And I actually want your input: my brain keeps telling me to start with the project that has the biggest payoff, even though the path of least resistance says start small and easy. What do you think I should do?

Two homes, almost the same price. One major difference.

One gets you nearly double the space. The other gets you into a “W” school district, Wootton, Whitman, Walter Johnson, some of the most sought-after in the county.

When that many families are chasing the same handful of schools, it drives the price up over decades. There’s nothing wrong with wanting it, it just explains the number.

Space or prestige, that’s your call to make. Not mine.
