Currently, the market is anticipating a 99.5% chance of a 0.25% rate cut, and only a 0.5% chance of a 0.5% cut.
As you know, mortgage rates are forward-looking, meaning that current pricing has already factored in market expectations. Therefore, we likely won’t see much movement before the announcement.
Could rates go lower after 11:00 AM? It’s possible—but with only a 0.5% probability. In contrast, there’s a 99.5% chance that rates may tick slightly upward after the announcement.
