I heard this quote recently and I realized that I was saying it wrong for years.

The full quote "A jack of all trades is a master of none, but oftentimes better than a master of one."

I was originally intended to be compliment. Today we shorten it an attach a little judgment to it.

I am a self-proclaimed Jack of All Trades. I say that proudly I do many things well and can learn to just about anything at "Youtube Universit

I was always slightly ashamed of the gift. Some of you know what I am talking about.

We have been taught to specialize and niche down, instead of exploring all of our talents. We have to taught to focus than let our minds wonder.

So today, I want to give a shout out to all the Jacks of all trades.

Those who can fix a car and knit a scarf;
Those who can fix a flat and bake a cake; Those who can sew a button on your child's shirt and be a full time CEO; Those who can box broad and balance the books; Those who can lift weights and uplift spirits. Those who can tear down bath room and build up child.

We are Jacks of all Trades.

Sometimes we just have to speak things into existence.

I am a firm believer in the power of spoken words.

Words have power to create or destroy. We can speak life into your situation or you can speak death into it.

We all have get those gut punches in life or in our businesses, but we have a choice. We can accept defeat and speak negativity and death into the situation or we can speak positivity and life.

Whatever we choose to will not return to us void. "It will. . . achieve the purpose for which [you] sent it."

There are levels to this!
Like many of you, at one point my business was just a dream. I dreamed of the day when I would quit my job and start my own law practice.
I planned and saved.
Then I left. I set off.
But, so would quickly learn that planning and saving meant nothing.
1 month after I left my VP title and guaranteed paycheck, my wife told me that we were going to have another baby.
Panic mode kicked in. And Building a Legacy became even more important.
This also meant that my business savings had disappeared overnight!
Now, I had to find creative ways to build my business.
I struggled with many aspects of business.
I would think...”There has got to be an easier way to do this.”
No worries. I applied to “YouTube University” and got my “DYI” degree. Perfect!!
However, there were somethings that I just could not DYI!
My saving grace, was that I was a seasoned and well quality attorney and I didn’t have to DYI the contracts necessary to successfully run my business.
So many years later, I am able to provide the same solution for every wealth building CEO.

**TRADEMARK PRO TIP**

Get a COMPREHENSIVE TRADEMARK SEARCH prior to investing in your business name and brand.

If hiring an attorney is not in your immediate budget, at least do a few internet searches using variations of your intended business name.

Recently, my client The Mommy Grind learned that another business recently started using her trademark.

We contacted the owners with a Cease and Desist notice. They were understanding. However, their defense was: “WE HAD NO IDEA.”

Please take the time to research your business prior to launching it.

Honoring Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. who have gave his life so that Blacks could have basic Civil Rights.
We all say the “Civil Right Movement” as a term and forget what CIVIL RIGHTS actually means - what we are actually fight for.
Civil Rights include, but are not limited to:

✔️Freedom of life and Safety

✔️Freedom of speech.

✔️Freedom of the press.

✔️Freedom of religion.

✔️Freedom to vote.

✔️Freedom against unwarranted searches of your home or property.

✔️Freedom to have a fair court trial.

✔️Freedom to remain silent in a police interrogation.

✔️Freedom to assemble.

✔️Freedom of movement.

✔️Freedom from discrimination on grounds such as race, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, color, age, political affiliation, ethnicity, religion, and disability.

While we honor Dr. Martin Luther King Jr today for giving his life to achieve these BASIC CIVIL RIGHTS for Black and Brown people, we must be remind that the fight continues today. Today we fight for the Freedom from police Abuse and Brutality, among other things.

Let us not minimize the purpose of the fight.
