One of my earliest memories from trial work was being called out by a judge for not standing when everyone was told to “all rise.” It was a small moment, but at the time it felt huge, and it became one of the most important lessons of my early career.
That experience taught me the importance of preparation and communication before stepping into the courtroom. Over the years, my confidence has grown tremendously, and now I make it a priority to communicate closely with courtroom staff before trial so every detail is organized and the process runs as smoothly as possible.
Looking back, I’m grateful for those early lessons. The moments that challenge us the most are often the ones that shape us into better advocates, leaders, and professionals.
