Our Story

As a part of the Montana Supreme Court’s Court Help Program, the Missoula County Self Help Law Center is dedicated to increasing access to justice for all Montanans by helping people to represent themselves in civil (non-criminal) legal cases.

Relying on experienced staff, Justice for Montanans AmeriCorps service members, and trained volunteers, the program assists thousands of Montanans each year, providing customers with information, paperwork, and referrals.

Since opening our doors over a decade ago, the MSLA Self-Help Law Center has assisted clients on nearly 30,000 occasions to empower pro se litigants to navigate the district court system on their own.
