Remember when negotiating paying off a debt with a collections company, make sure you have it in writing that they agree to remove it from your credit report before making a payment, but also remember they only paid 4% which is 4 pennies per dollar of your debt! If you owed $400, they bought your debt for $4!!! Offering 20% is still very profitable for them. That would only be $80 instead of $400! Take your refund & fix your credit in 2023!! ATTENTION! ATTENTION! PAY DOWN YOUR CREDIT CARDS, PAY DOWN DEBT, but do NOT pay off a collection or a charge off, DO NOT!! It will NOT help u, it will STILL BE ON YOUR CREDIT until the 7 year mark passes even if u pay it off!!! Contact the debt collector & settle with them. Make sure that you have it in writing from them BEFORE you make any type of payment (or you will reset that 7 year clock) that they agree to remove the item from all 3 credit bureaus immediately upon receiving payment, & do NOT admit the debt is yours while doing so!
