He focuses his work in the field of family law, representing a diverse array of clients in marriage dissolutions, post-decree disputes, paternity and custody determinations, domestic abuse and harassment cases and appeals. His cases usually involve the division of financial assets, business valuations, spousal maintenance, child support, custody and parenting time. Michael has a deep understanding
of the myriad of personal challenges faced by parents and children in these circumstances. He is a proven advocate in litigation. summa cm laude, from the University of Minnesota (1975) and a J.D. from the University of Minnesota (1978). He is a member of the Minnesota State Bar Association and Hennepin County Bar Association. Michael is altruistic. He devotes a substantial amount of time mentoring men seeking to recover from chemical dependency, developing and facilitating the seminar Big Book Study & Action and regularly speaking at The Retreat, in Wayzata. Michael is a founder of Grateful Turkeys, Inc. a Minnesota non-profit corporation, an organization of volunteers that has prepared and served a free traditional Thanksgiving meal to thousands of people in need. Michael lives in Excelsior with his wife Elizabeth Birkland Daub and her son Max Ingram.
