Not all fire damage actually looks like fire damage.

Part 10 of our fire series: This unit was directly below where the fire started. The flames didn’t reach it, but the amount of water that came through the ceiling meant we couldn’t simply clean it up and move on.

Mold risk, damaged materials, drywall — it all had to be addressed.

And this wasn’t even the worst of it. Part 11 takes us upstairs to one of the hardest-hit areas.

10 months after the fire, we’re finally back at our St. Paul 4-plex.

Part 9 of our fire series: The building had to be completely vacated after significant fire and water damage. After months of working through insurance and the rebuild, we’re finally nearing the finish line.

Here’s what the property looks like now — starting with the two units that took the most damage.
