Episode 5: ADVOCACY

“It’s very important to have someone who will advocate for you when you cannot advocate for yourself”.

Nearly 80 percent of people arrested unknowingly waive their Miranda rights. When you or a loved one calls the First Defense Hotline, a lawyer will visit you in detention and support you to properly advocate for your rights.

What’s your verdict?! What’s the importance of having an attorney by your side to help you to advocate for your rights? ⚖️

EP 4: CALL THE HOTLINE!

“There’s some things that people say that they probably shouldn’t be saying. And they don’t know that they shouldn’t be saying it.”

That’s exactly why we developed and launched the First Defense Hotline - to ensure that everyone can access and effectively exercise their right to silence and their right to an attorney.

What’s your verdict?! What’s the importance of having an attorney by your side in a time of need?

EP 2: PROPER REPRESENTATION

Today on Jury’s Out we’re talking to community members about an unjust reality of the criminal legal system - that while everyone has the right to an attorney, most of us don’t know an attorney or have access to one.

So what’s your verdict?! How can we ensure proper representation for all?
