😊 Received a beautiful email from a friend of a client. I’ll tell the story of the case in another post. But the summary is that he was a “habitual offender” and faced a 25 year sentence. The prosecutor argued for 20, and the judge said that was a reasonable request, especially since he had been to prison before and then reoffended with 2 more felony cases.
We went to work. Brought the human in him out, front and center.
Here’s what his friend wrote:
“Watching you advocate for (name) firsthand made an even greater impression on me. You did an incredible job presenting the mitigating circumstances and making sure the Court saw the person behind the case. Your preparation, professionalism, and genuine compassion really came through.
Yesterday’s outcome was far more favorable than I think any of us could have hoped for, and I truly believe the grace and consideration shown to Tyler was, in large part, a reflection of the work you put into advocating for him. I know how much this meant to him and to those of us who love and care about him.
I’m grateful you were the attorney standing beside him through this process. I’ll be happy to share my experience and hopefully help someone else who finds themselves in a difficult situation know that they have someone in their corner who will genuinely fight for them.
Thank you again for everything you did.”
