Recently, Dady & Gardner, P.A. paralegal Jennifer Heiser, along with her spouse and friends of the firm, headed to the 2026 Page Education Foundation Living Justice Gala, an event we always look forward to.

The Page Education Foundation volunteers are always friendly, helpful, and inviting, and you could tell they're genuinely glad to be part of this work.

Hearing Justice Page's story left everyone inspired to do a little more good in the world. The biggest takeaway from the evening came from Justice Page himself: "Be kinder than you need to be."

It's a simple idea, and one we can all use.

Jaime Paoletti is the newest attorney to join the Dady & Gardner, P.A. team!

Jaime is a transactional and litigation attorney representing franchisees nationwide. She brings extensive experience in commercial and construction law, along with deep relationships within the franchise community. A published author and active participant in the American Bar Association's Forum on Franchising, Jaime has been recognized as a Super Lawyers New England Rising Star and has served as Chair of the Connecticut Bar Association's Franchise, Distribution and Dealer Law Section.

Based in our Rhode Island office, Jaime represents franchisee clients in disputes with their franchisors through litigation, arbitration, franchise disclosure analysis, and related matters.

When she's not advocating for her clients, Jaime enjoys hiking, exploring local gems like Block Island with her family, and good music (she's a devoted Tom Petty fan).

Maryland's updated Franchise Registration and Disclosure Law is effective October 1, 2026. Here's what changed—and what it means for franchisees.

Two Key Changes:

1. Revised Statute of Limitations: Allows franchisees to file within four years of signing the franchise agreement or two years of opening, whichever comes first—giving franchisees more runway to bring claims.

2. Statutory Right to Join Franchisee Associations: Maryland now protects your right to join, participate in, and freely associate with other franchisees without franchisor interference.

What This Means: Together, these changes strengthen the franchisees' individual legal position and their collective voice as franchisees.

Last week, Dady & Gardner attorneys Rachel Zaiger and Samuel Agostini presented Follow the Rules: A Primer on Franchise Law at the Rhode Island Bar Association Annual Meeting, where they focused on walking transactional attorneys and litigators through key considerations when working with franchisee clients.

The trip was also a great opportunity to spend time at our Rhode Island office, catch up with the team in person, and get a feel for those beautiful New England summers!
