When a jury gets it right, the fight often isn't over. This one wasn't, and the verdict held.

The Massachusetts Appeals Court has affirmed an $11.9 million verdict for a teenage epilepsy patient who developed Stevens-Johnson Syndrome and partial vision loss after being overprescribed an anti-seizure medication.

Attorneys Karen Zahka and Austin Dana secured the award at trial, building a record so carefully developed that it held up all the way through appeal. When the defense challenged the trial judge's missing-witness instruction, Attorney Chris Lynett argued the appeal, and the Court agreed with us on every point.

Strong trial work makes for a clean appeal. That is exactly what happened here. Congratulations to Karen, Austin, Chris, and everyone who stood behind this client. This is what showing up looks like.

Keches Law Group was proud to support Teamsters Local 493’s 22nd Annual Edward Rice Scholarship Tournament. The event raised funds for scholarships for members’ children graduating from high school in spring 2027 and heading to college.

It was wonderful to spend the day with active members and returning retirees. Thank you to the Teamsters Local 493 staff for putting together such a successful event, and to President and Business Agent Craig Mitchell for serving as emcee.
