Our very own Laurel Kennedy was before the Massachusetts Appeals Court yesterday seeking to have a panel of judges overturn a Superior Court’s decision to deny the State Police Association of Massachusetts’s right to arbitrate a grievance related to the former Colonel’s actions in taking and canceling previously set days off for Association members, without explanation. Attorney Kennedy and the panel of judges engaged in an informative discussion about harmonizing the Association’s bargaining rights under the Law and the Colonel’s rights under his statute, G.L. c. 22C, which the Department contends are absolute. We look forward to a decision from the Court resolving this issue and hope it will clarify the rights of both the Union and the Department in a fair and reasonable manner.

A great week in Vermont for Barrault and Associates!

Attorney Harper Hutchins was officially admitted to the Vermont Bar, adding VT to the list of states where our attorneys are licensed and strengthening our ability to serve clients throughout the region. Harper also attended the Professional Fire Fighters of Vermont State Convention in Burlington, connecting with firefighters, union leaders, and advocates dedicated to supporting those who serve.
