🏃‍♂️🚒 BOSTON FIREFIGHTERS MEMORIAL 10K — SUNDAY, OCTOBER 11

Registration is officially open for the 2026 Boston Firefighters Local 718 Memorial 10K Road Race!

This race is open to everyone — firefighters, families, friends, runners, walkers and supporters — and we hope you’ll join us for one of the great traditions of the Boston Fire Department.

But we’re also putting out a special challenge to our own Boston Firefighters:

🔥 REPRESENT YOUR FIREHOUSE 🔥

Grab your brothers or sisters and compete for the Lt. Steven Minehan Trophy, awarded to the Boston firehouse with the fastest combined finishing times of its top three firefighters.

This year, we would also like to recognize the first Boston firefighter to cross the finish line with a special trophy presented in memory of our brother Firefighter Bobby “BK” Kilduff, who was tragically killed in the line of duty this year.

It’s one more way for us to carry Bobby’s name and memory forward on a day that has always been about honoring our fallen and celebrating the brotherhood and sisterhood of the Boston Fire Department.

Let’s see some friendly competition between the houses this year and get as many BFD members out on the course as possible.

Most importantly, this race has always been about something much bigger than the finish line.

Every October, we come together as a fire service family to remember and honor the Boston firefighters we’ve lost — those who made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty and those we’ve lost to occupational cancer and other job-related illnesses.

This year’s race will carry even greater meaning as we remember Bobby “BK” Kilduff, along with the many members we’ve lost to occupational cancer and all those whose service and sacrifice came before us.

Run for your firehouse.

The Boston Firefighters 10K is back—registration is officially open!

Join us Sunday, October 11, 2026, at Florian Hall in Dorchester for the 10K run or 5K walk.

Registration includes a commemorative medal, runner shirt, and post-race beer for participants 21+. A special-edition Boston Fire Department Relief Fund hoodie can also be added for $50.

“We believe that the record speaks for itself and that the evidence directly contradicts Mr. Calter’s recent statements. We believe that the evidence and history are on Chief McNamara’s side. The people of Stoughton have made their voices heard, and barely a day goes by that we do not hear of another act of abuse by Mr. Calter. The way he chooses to address those he feels are subordinate to him is painfully transparent. The difference today is that many of those people, including labor leaders, current and former officials in two towns and Chief McNamara, are not choosing to remain quiet any longer.”
